When 1 door closes, another one always opens. Most people spend so much time focused on the closed door that they never see the one opening.
Life changes (continuously) and you will never fully live if you are always trying to control it.

Someone once put it like this...
Think of fear as a splinter in your foot. It hurts to touch, so you can leave it & modify your daily life to avoid that pain.
This is how most of us deal with fear, we restructure our lives so that nothing triggers it...

If you face your fear, or in this case the splinter, and just remove it, you can go about your day normally.
The point is to face fear and live your life how you wish or else you are limited by these beliefs and it will shape your reality.
