Carnatic musicians work very hard. They get zero support from the State. No pensions, no social security, no medical benefits, nothing! Yet, they work to uphold and safeguard the complicated art form. They should be allowed charge as long as someone is ready to pay!

If really mediocre cinema actors can charge high fees and deliver such bad performances, why shouldn't classical musicians and dancers who slog all their lives in service of art?!
It takes years of hardwork and training to become a professional musician. And uphold a legacy.

Wedding Kacheris!! Wedding parties splurge on everything from huge hotels and gala dinners, but when it comes to paying classical artistes, they become pennypinchers!The same wedding parties won't mind paying whatever a cinema singers or orchestras quotes!

India doesn't have a culture or heritage policy! Artistes are left to the elements. If they don't earn their livelihoods, nobody is going to give a damn to them when they are in tough times. Certainly not the state!
Let them earn whatever they can whenever they can!
