I've posted about CUBO for a long time, so old followers will certainly know the project by now.
Their protocol uses a liquidity node, meaning you provide the LP pair directly. So to mint a node, you have to get an equal portion of CUBO and DAI.
For example, to get Nano CUBO that they are giving away, you require 100 CUBO - 100 DAI. Right now that's $700 worth in CUBO plus the DAI. The CUBO fluctuates, but the DAI does not.
I liked CUBO immediately because:
1. It wasn't a fork, @tinycapp wrote everything from scratch himself (almost everything was a fork then)
2. Their rewards were much lower than the standard at the time. I was already trying to warn people how unsustainable these projects are. Back then the norm was 2% daily APY, and CUBO was offering 0.6-1%.
They have recently migrated towards their V3 contract and also got their CertiK audit. The most important part about V3 is RoC.
RoC means Return of Cubo, so in the previous example of the Nano Cubo, given that you bought it with 100 CUBO, once you've gotten 100 CUBO back, that's the RoC.
This acts as a quasi-ROI measurement. Not quite, but close enough. This is used to calibrate rewards. I've talked forever about the importance of protocols introducing tapers, and I've advised old protocols to implement it ASAP.
Unless my memory is failing, CUBO is the only one that has done so. After the RoC is achieved, the rewards are cut in half.
For the Nano Cubo, this means that you will get 1 CUBO for 100 days, and then 0.5 CUBO after that. This helps sustainability in the long-term a fair bit.
