The 'Man Up' Paradox
Mini Thread// ๐Ÿงต
People only respond to being told to 'man up' if they are seeking approval or validation from whoever says or witnesses it.
A paradox.
If they were to 'man up' doesn't that mean they can't seek approval or validation?
Those who 'man up' on demand are having their values and visions manipulated.
They are trying to live up to someone else's standards.
A paradox.
Would 'a man' let himself be manipulated this way, or would he follow his own values and visions?
Those who 'man up' on demand normally have insecurities already and they feel they've something to prove.
Another paradox.
People only say 'man up' when they sense weakness, and they often enjoy the power and the false sense of superiority it gives them.
If you want to take control of your own life, give anyone who uses this phrase a wide berth.
Understand they have insecurities too, otherwise they wouldn't feel the need to assert their dominance so much over those they see as weak.
Concentrate on what makes YOU happy!
