1. Set targets and goals
You should put whatever you set to achieve on a calendar
Setting targets will not only give you direction but also help you keep track of your progress and keep you motivated
This simple step will have a huge effect on your performance
2. Plan for road bumps
You may be excited and confident about achieving your goals, but it's possible to be too optimistic
There will be obstacles that pop up and are out of your control
Be prepared for them so you don't lose motivation when you aren't able perform some tasks
3. Change your environment
A change of scenery will sometimes will help you approach new targets with a "fresh" perspective
AKA the novelty effect: a boost that comes from changing your environment
Try it out and see how much you boost your productivity
4. Identify your "why"
Take a moment to reflect on why the goal is important?
What's the reason why it's important?
Dig until you find the "core value" for your goals
Take a moment to also visualize everyday how that success will look like and how it will feel
5. Have self-belief
If you think of yourself as someone who takes on new challenges and can succeed your brain will literally rewire itself
Your brain will release dopamine (a brain chemical associated with motivation)
A positive self-image will hack your brain to set goals
6. Celebrate your wins
Focus on what you've achieved on your journey instead of the "ideal"
If your ideal goal is to lose 20lbs in 3 months and you've lost 7lbs in the first month celebrate that progress
This will focus your mind to losing more weight and gain more motivation
