Before I go into this thread...
It's important you understand cold email isn't to get you a GIG or job...
No.
The sole role of a cold email is to get you a sales call.
Got it?

Now let's move to the meat.
A cold email has 4 parts:
1. The subject Line
2. The First Line
3. Your Offer
4. CTA.
I'll explain.

I'll explain.
1. The Subject Line:
The only purpose of the subject line is to get the prospect to open the email.
Here's what I've been using:
Quick question for {{Companyname}}
This SL gives me a 50% open rate.
However, if your open rates are lower than 50%...
Then try something else.

Of course, every vertical has what they respond to.
So you wanna try out different variations and stick to what gives you maximum results.

2. The First Line:
First line = CEO First name + A Compliment.
Now, the "First Name" could be that of the decision-maker.
For some verticals, it could be the marketing manager you wanna have a sales call with.

And for the compliment...
You could use either a personal compliment or get some fascinating things the company recently did and use as a compliment.
Doesn't have to belong. One sentence is better.

3. The Offer & Unique Angle
The angle... The hook is the ONLY reason why they'll be interested in getting on a call with you.
Now you need to stand out and give them an irresistible offer.
Take this offer that has landed me a call:

"I recently helped an Ecom brand like yours 2X their email revenue using behavioural email marketing, I've just scribbled down some flow ideas that'll increase your brand in 3 months or your money back."
If you noticed...
If you noticed...
I introduced a unique mechanism "behavioural email marketing".
It's something they've never heard of.
Since they've tried other email guys that didn't work, they will still wanna try your offer.
NOTE: This part of the cold email is what you'll be testing every time.

4. CTA
Ask for the call.
Listen attentively, you wanna ask for just the call...
Because doing something else will definitely hurt your conversion.
You don't want to send them a Calendly link.
Ask for a date and schedule the meeting manually.

Something else most freelancers ignore is "FOLLOW UP".
Sending one email may not do the magic.
You need to fill your cold email pipeline with follow-ups.
At least 5 follow-ups, if you're lazy.
Use tools like Gmass, Woodpecker or Mailshake so you can send emails in bulk.

Okay.
You may wanna ask
"How Do You Get Leads?"
Here:
You see, most of the Leads Scraping tools will just give you lists of websites.
So you just have to scrape D2C websites..
Head to Anymailfinder and plug in the websites there to get the CEO email and LinkedIn profile.

Or if you have a budget...
Head over to ContactEcom to get CEO phone numbers (Mostly Ecom brands).
That'll be all to get you started!
RT if you find this valuable.
If this thread hits 30 RTS, I'll host a Twitter space dedicated to "Client Acquisition".
