Hazrat Abubakar (RA) was sitting among companions once he received Khalid RA's message. On reading, he called a Young man by the name of Qaqa Bin Amr and instructed him to go to Iraq. Companions asked Khalifa; how he expects a single man to be a replacement of an army..!

The army that has soldiers like Qaqa, is hard to defeat...came the reply.
Fast Forward to the Battle of Chains, first clash between the Muslims under Khalid and the Persians under Hormuz, a very capable General...(fought in present day Kuwait, than a part of Persian Empire)

Hormuz had assessed that personality of Khalid Bin Waleed RA was a single most invincible factor of the Muslim Army. He decided to neutralize this factor....with stratagem.
As per traditions, he challenged Khalid for a One on One Combat before the battle.

Though a champion fighter himself he was under no illusion of the skill of Khalid. So to be sure, he placed a few fighters concealed in the front files with a task to Kill Khalid during the duel on Hormuz's signal.
The combat began b/w two legendary fighters of epic skills

A first round of brilliant contest of swordsmanship was a draw. Towards the end, Hormuz threw down his sword, removed the armor and signaled Khalid for an unarmed combat...which Khalid accepted smiling. During the fierce contest Hormuz got Khalid in a strong "Bear Hug"

..and gave the signal. 5 to 6 fighters suddenly appeared in the Arena and surrounded the two commanders locked in grips. Khalid saw that and being a seasoned fighter started dragging Hormuz in circling motion kicking up dust, to confuse and delay the fighters.

In that confusing moment, Hawk like eye of a young fighter in Muslim ranks picked up the situation. As a common trait of all the legendary soldiers worldwide, he correctly assessed the moment and in the same instance drew his own course of action.

There was no time to involve others, the life of the Sword of Allah was in danger. He instantly got his horse in a gallop and pounced on the Iranian fighters surrounding Khalid, waiting for a chance to strike. They were cut down by the mounted Mujahid in a heartbeat.

In the next instance, Khalid was on top of Hormuz with a dagger dripping in the Persian Commander's blood.
Muslims won that battle, followed by many more against the Persians and Byzantines under Khalid RA, the Sword of Allah.
