For Australia, I excitedly called my friend who lived in Sydney & he encouraged me & told me what to do
I got all the documents together (with much stress o), did their English test (more difficult than IELTS), and finally, I submitted my application for permanent residence...

For one month b4 the verdict came, I couldn't sleep. I couldn't even understand dat kind of anxiety. It was killing me
And eventually, d verdict came...& I was refused!

I think d shock of dat refusal almost killed me. But something happened dat night while I was crying that I cannot explain till ds day
While I sat down on d floor of our guest room crying, my phone rang
And guess what…
It was a friend I had in the UK who had moved to Canada..

As soon as I picked her call & heard her voice, I burst into tears all over again
She told me to wipe my tears, get my laptop & to create a Canada Express Entry profile immediately

That was how I created an express entry that night...with rekindled hope
After dat day, I checked my email & profile almost everyday...hoping to get an invitation to apply for permanent residence. 6 months after I created d profile, my hope began to dwindle

...with friends, I was encouraged to start looking for jobs in Canada. A Job offer would certainly boost my CRS scores, they said
So, I started searching jobs, and sending CVs. I sent 100s of CVs and got...zero response ☹
And then as if that was not enough, I woke up one day..

Hey! I was dazed. I felt so powerless & hopeless. I saw my Canada dream slowly slipping away from my grasp…right before my eyes
At this point, I was so desperate that if I had been told to come and bathe naked..

I saw a social media post advertising family & work visas in Canada. Dy said dy would give job, accommodation, flight & even visas 4 family members
What? It was a no brainer.

I quickly contacted d person who had posted the ad and we started talking price
To cut a long story short, I later found out that ds person was a fraud
You know those kinds of fraud agents now….the ones that will promise heaven and earth, collect N750k from you & disappear...

My mind wasn't settled so I started asking so many questions. He got uncomfortable & cut me off
He wasn't d only fraud I met on ds relocation journey. But God saved me from losing much money to these agents
After these losses & disappointments, I knew that I needed divine help.

And that was when God showed up
Following a series of events, a friend told me to come to Canada as a student because that was how she herself had gone to Canada.

I didn’t want to, but what choice did I have? Australia denied me. My Canada EE profile expired & things weren't getting better in d country
So, I got admission, put documents together & applied for study visa. And few months later, my Canada study visa application was refused!

I just closed d laptop & went 2 sleep. I was tired, & I wasn't ready to face d harsh reality staring at me
Imagine!
After everything I and hubby had gone through…d money we had spent…d time and efforts...d prayers…d long nights…
I had nothing to show for all that!

I felt like a total failure becos I couldn't do a thing to help myself, talk less of helping my family 2 get d life I know they truly deserve
But after some weeks, I started researching again, learning, & paying hundreds of dollars to speak to immigration consultants in Canada

By the time I applied d 2nd time, I was ready!
I had gotten a fully-funded program. My visa SOP was a bomb! I had learned too much for my application to be refused……plus the grace of God that was on me...
A couple of months later, my Canada study visa was finally approved!
