Thread :
This thread is dedicated to those Nay-sayers who always try to demean the Economic Growth of Bharat under PM Modi.
GST mop-up hit record high of
โ‚น 1.68 trn in April on robust biz activity.
But what was the reaction of Nay-sayers?
(1/9)
They started saying that this Record Collection is because of Inflation. Wow.
Now let me ask "What has contributed the most in recent inflation figures?"
Ans : Food Inflation.... Mainly Vegetables & Fruits.
(2/9)
Now Nay-sayers must know that "Fresh and/or chilled fruits & vegetables are exempt from GST which is in line with erstwhile VAT laws in different states. Hence, fresh unprocessed goods purchased directly from agriculturist or dealer or retailer are exempt"
1st argument bust.

Now, Nay-sayers will target petrol prices. Let me remind them that Petrol Prices are high due to global effects and if GST collection increased only because of Inflation...then what do you say about Increase in PMI?
(4/9)
Purchasing Managersโ€™ Index (PMI) for April rose to 54.7 from 54 in March. Improved PMI in April indicates that higher collections to continue. Note that GST is on Consumption & PMI represents Production. Both are moving in co-relation positively.
(5/9)
What I am really happy with is....Number of e-way bills (one of the high-frequency indicators) generated in March was 77 million, 13% higher than the 68 million in Febr 22, which reflects the recovery in business activity at a fasยญter pace.
(6/9)
Other than this.... another reason for high collection of GST is tightened compliance measures and a crackdown on GST evaders and fake bills through data analytics and artificial intelligence.
(7/9)
And if the Nay-sayers are still not convinced, I would like to request them to look at continuously increasing Exports ($38.19 Billion in April 22 alone) and increasing Imports ($58.26 Billions).
(8/9)
Lastly.."Labour-intensive sectors also contributed to exports basket, which itself is a good sign, further creating jobs in Nation": Says FIEO.
And so..if anyone,STILL,wants to continue with Pessimism..is free to join JNU
Bharat is growing by following Kautilya Arthshastra.
