On my way back home today, for the first time, I carried out my Civic Responsibility as a resident of the UK 🇬🇧.
I voted my choice candidate for the Councillor and Mayor of London Borough of Tower Hamlets. 1/3
The returning officer posted Poll Cards to all registered voters few days ago which has details of our ward location, voting time (7AM-10PM), how to vote by post (Send in your votes by mail) or proxy (this means someone else can vote on your behalf)… 2/3
The entire process was smooth, fast & easy and didn’t require voters card. I forgot to add that I didn’t see anyone sharing branded rice or envelope.
Election is not do or die. Politicians are to serve the people & not fraud their way into offices just cos of juicy benefits. 3/3
