Courses such as sciences, technology, medicine, mathematics
If needed, you will apply to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). Your school will give you the link to the FCO

Takes 20 working days (4 weeks) to process but can take up to 30 days or more depending on volume of application.
The certificate is valid for 6 months after approval, you must use the certificate within this period to apply for your visa

PS: Be nice to your lecturers o, you may have to go back to them for ATAS reference. I had to get this for my PhD.
Good thing i was nice to my lecturers, they were happy to support me with reference letter even after several years of not contacting them.
