Alpha.
It’s what everyone here is after.
It’s not easy to find, but when you do it rewards heavily.
Here’s how a pastry goes about finding his alpha..🧁
Nansen
Nansen is one of the best tools for finding alpha.
They offer a suite of analytical tools, but my favorite is the “Smart Money” section.
This shows token inflows/outflows from some of the top wallets on ETH.
Governance forums
Keeping up to date with proposals going on across the DAO space is critical.
Often times, these proposals can inflict massive changes in price.
Here’s my favorite tool to monitor them:
messari.io
Wallet tracking
Using tools like Zerion, you can track the wallets of some of the biggest players in crypto.
Every tx is recorded on chain, but it is up to you to put this information to use.
With Zerion, I am able to monitor and position myself among top players.
Github
Github is mostly used by developers, but is a very useful tool for the average user when looking for alpha.
The open source nature of crypto means that nearly all information is public.
On Github, you can track commits made by renowned developers in the space.
Tweet notifications
Having access to quick information is critical.
By turning notifications on for the right accounts, you put yourself at a massive advantage over others.
For ex, I had notifs on for @AntonNellCrypto, & was notified immediately after the rage quit tweet
Twitter accounts
If you’re able to drown out all the noise, CT is a great place for finding alpha.
A specific example I can recall was made by @0xHamz, who documented the collapse of the Luna ecosystem from start to finish. t.co
News aggregators
There’s too much going on in this space to stay up to date with everything happening.
Luckily, there are a few platforms that curate this news for us on a daily basis.
My personal favorites are @nansen_ai’s GM Digest, and the t.me telegram.
Dune analytics
Dune analytics is a site that lets anyone publish and access crypto dashboards driven by on-chain data.
By looking at the dashboard for ENS name registrations, I was able to take part in the 3-4 digit domain hype that started earlier this month.
Podcasts
Podcasts are not only a great tool for education, they can also be used to find alpha
Nearly a month ago, @BanklessHQ released a podcast about the risks associated with the Luna ecosystem
This podcast would prove to be very useful in the future..
Glass Node
Glass node is an analytical website that offers access to institutional grade on chain data.
My favorite segment to monitor is “Bitcoin: Exchange Net Position Change”.
This will help give you an idea of where prices may be headed
Etherscan smart contract search
Smart contract search is one of the many unique tools offered by Etherscan.
Using it, @CroissantEth was able to find that Coinbase NFT was working with ENS to issue subdomains off-chain
Alpha is rarely given out for free.
You have to go out and find it on your own.
The sources included in this thread have never failed me.
Learn how to navigate these, and alpha will be right at your finger tips.
