Karnali Blues by @buddhisagar
A heartwarming story written with such a simplicity and honesty that touches your heart. Some of the moments were reminiscent of my childhood. I plan to re-read again soon in Nepali. Thank you @HuttMich πŸ™Œ
Few moments from the book🧡
//Thread//
1) Every mom when someone gives you money either it be Dashain or some relative visiting:
β€œGive it to me, I will look after it for you”
2) Mischievous childhood days:
β€œSanotshi Ba Harsha Bahadur” πŸ˜…
3) Those days when the school days dream was to get β€˜bicycle’ and you wait for the happy moment to ask for it.
4) Education is the shelter of a big tree. Whether it rains or the sun shines, it gives shelter.
Also, hope of every middle-class parents to educate their children and fulfill their dreams through their children.
5) Those days childhood days when you bought postcard for New Year and gave it your friends.
Every friendship or love story started with a postcard πŸ’›
6) Simple and straightforward school days love letter with full of honesty and innocence.
7) When circus used to come once in a while if you have lived in Terai and the most exciting was β€˜Maut ka Kuwa (Well of Death)'
8) With a peg or two, you know everything.
9) That same feeling when I discovered Walkman for the first one and I wanted it.
It was the coolest thing at the time.
10) Crows tell us news. We have to be able to understand.
PS: Happened with me at our home at times.
11) β€œDon’t feel sad that your Ba has sent you away,” Father told me.
β€œI have sent you on this road so that you can know your own way.”
12) When you go away from home, mother packs up everything she can.
Father said, β€œIt’s the city. He will come back wiser. We have to educate him.”
13) After these many years, still the same on phone call with my parents:
When it is mother, I can talk for a long time.
But with father, I still don’t know why, I am unable to speak much and it finishes in how are you and stay well.
14) Every time when you return home:
15) β€œThere is no one as loving as my father.”
