In a Hindu home, the main door is extremely important. It is adorned with toran and other religiously significant items. It represents the divide between the inner and outside worlds.

All negative influences outside are blocked at the main door, while the inside is pure.
Only good things are permitted to pass through the door. Purna Kumbha, toran, mango leaves, rice plant, sugarcane, rangoli, and foot painting are used to welcome Goddess Lakshmi through the main door.
We should prohibit all negative influences from entering our mind and intellect, just as we would not let anything unpleasant, negative, or inauspicious into our dwelling. It, like the house, should be kept clean.
What we read, hear, and listen to should all be carefully considered. Our thoughts should be cleansed before being accepted into our minds.
Children and other family members are warned not to sit on the entrance door in some areas (doorway). This is because Lord Vishnu's Narasimha avatar destroyed the demon Hiranyakashipu at the entryway.
Hiranyakashipu received a boon from Brahma that he would not be slain inside or outside any form of dwelling.
In a Hindu home, some of the items placed or utilized on the front door include

ยท In some regions, a face (mask) with protruding eyes, a big mustache, and a tongue is kept on the front door.
This is to keep out negative forces.
