Since publishing our report into the killing of Shireen Abu Akleh, new footage has emerged showing the moments before her shooting.
This new footage is consistent with our findings, which placed IDF vehicles ~190 meters away from the spot where Abu Akleh was shot.
A video shared on Facebook shows the line of sight from the IDF vehicle convoy to the spot where she was shot.
Two IDF vehicles are visible in the distance, just above and to the left of the yellow vehicle. On the right, the tree beside which Abu Akleh fell after she was shot.
Those same IDF vehicles are visible in one of the images that we cited in our report, which was taken from a position further south overlooking the road.
That image suggested that the IDF vehicles had a clear line of sight to the spot where Abu Akleh was shot.
In our report, we also referenced a series of videos shared on Telegram showing the IDF vehicle convoy in position, about 190 meters from the spot where Abu Akleh was shot.
These images, cited in our report, show a clearer view of the convoy.
This new footage also shows Shireen and her colleagues, all clearly wearing "PRESS" equipment, walking towards the IDF convoy at the moment that the shooting starts.
The video is here: facebook.com
This new Facebook footage confirms that the IDF position that we identified as being ~190 meters from the spot where Abu Akleh was shot had a clear line of sight to her and her colleagues.
