@PalmerLuckey I like this idea but it feels like it would require massive cash flow for a very long time upfront (years-long sentences!) and then you have to wait (how many?) years before you say that a prisoner doesnβt return (ever? or for n years?) to qualify for payment.
@PalmerLuckey Maybe it could be scoped down for only first-time offenders? These would be shorter sentences and have the most direct avenue of addressing the causes of recidivism. Take the typical span of time within which many re-offend and if they make it past 1.5x that, then recv payment.
@PalmerLuckey I feel like itβs still a years long thing though, and would require iteration to perfect rehabilitation practices, and so could be really money-losing for decades, more so than other private prisons.
@PalmerLuckey Palmer, did you get any further on working through these hurdles back when you thought of this? I figure you went further than just the two-line elevator pitch.
