And that mantra is the sacred one of five letters. //End
There are many mantras which require vaidika upanayana (I.e. Vaidika Mantras - Yes, no need to lie about this).
Even mantras which are available to all Varṇas & women will often require a Guru. And in practice, many of these mantras will not go beyond the 4 Varṇas.
Even mantras which are available to all Varṇas & women will often require a Guru. And in practice, many of these mantras will not go beyond the 4 Varṇas.
Even in the rare case a mantra could go beyond the 4 Varṇas to one & all, it would require not just upadeśa from a Guru, it would require a certain level of purity & Ācāra that even ordinarily religious people would struggle to maintain all the time during work-days.
But Bhagavān (Mahādeva) removed all these locks for this one mantra which bears His name. And it lies at the very heart of Vedic texts. It occurs in the heart of one of the most prestigious Vaidika rituals.
And that hallowed mantra of five letters, He has made free for any Āstika.
Mahādeva is so kind that He promises that the five letters are never harmful to anyone.
Whether or not the mantra was received through Guru-Upadeśa, whether or not one has ācāra (good conduct), whether or not one is śuci (state of purity), whether or not one is fallen (patita), whether or not one is antyaja (existing outside the order of the 4 Varṇas) ++
Whether or not you have done Ṣaḍadhvaśuddhi (another way of saying Śaiva initiation), whether or not you are walking or stationary or doing sone work, whether or not you have transgressed norms before, whether or not you are an imbecile - the 5 letters will not be fruitless.
You don’t have to worry about a good muhūrta, tithi, nakṣatra, vāra (good day of the week), etc to recite the five letters.
This is Hara’s promise.
This is Hara’s promise.
But all that said, please do not abuse the five letters by saying it without devotion or with arrogance against or disrespect for scriptures & those who shed light on the way of the scriptures.
It is the same Hara who reveals:
“yasya yadvihitaṃ karma vede śāstre ca vaidikaiḥ |
tasya tena samācāraḥ sadācāro na cetaraḥ |”
