These habits destroy your confidence
Struggling with confidence? Always feeling low?
Knowing the things that affect your confidence levels is crucial to becoming confident.
This thread shows you the habits destroying your confidence
You value other people's opinions over your own.
If you have to change your behavior to reflect what people want to see, you're harming your confidence.
Negative self-talk
No matter how small they are, they're still dangerous. Because as clichΓ© as it sounds, you become what you think.
Switch your negative self-talk with Positive affirmations and you'll rewire your mind to create a positive reality for you.
Comparisons and one-upmanship
Social media has made this so easy. It's like we're in a constant competition for who the happiest person is or who has the best life.
This creates one-upmanship where you try to go the extra mile to show that you're better...
This only makes you miserable.
Understand that these social media highlights aren't real. It's all a game
Self-deprecating talk.
It's common to say you're not so good each time you try to do something.
Let's say before a presentation, before you play a sport, or whatever. It may look like humility but your confidence is taking a beating from it.
Everyone else is to blame but you.
If this is you, your self esteem will dip because now you feel less confident in your ability to handle your problems.
But once you start to take ownership for your problems, your confidence will thank you.
Low self expectations.
It's common to do this because you try not to jinx anything. But setting low expectations for yourself makes people expect the same from you. And this affects your self-image.
You divert compliments.
In my self-mastery guide, I wrote about how "Thank you" can be difficult to say after a compliment
You get a compliment and instead of just saying thank you, you give a compliment in return or talk about how your new soap is the cause of your clear skin
Accepting compliments doesn't make you proud or selfish.
Not building anything.
Your body, Business, Relationships, all need to be built.
Progress gives you confidence. So the more you see positive changes, the more confident you become.
