@Hadithoftheday Dhul-Hijjah (Twelfth month of Islamic calender).
Dhul al-Hijjah got its name because it is the month in which the 5th pillar of Islam-Hajj is performed.
The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are referred to as the best ten days of the year.
@Hadithoftheday The Prophet ﷺ said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days ( First 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah) ”[Bukhari]
@Hadithoftheday Allah swears by these 10 days of Dhul- Hijjah in the Qur’an as:
By the dawn, and by the Ten nights,” [Qur’an, 89:1-2].
Ibn ‘Abbas, Ibn al-Zubayr, Mujahid said that this refers to the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Ibn Katheer said: “This is the correct opinion.”
@Hadithoftheday The ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are among the great seasons of worship which Allah has favoured over other days.
The Muslim should start these days with sincere repentance to Allah, & should do a lot of righteous deeds in general.
@Hadithoftheday Recommended deeds during Dhul-Hijjah:
1. Fasting:
It is Sunnah for the Muslim to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah.
The Prophet ﷺ used to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah and the day of ‘Ashura’, and three days each month. (Nasa’i , Abu Dawood)
@Hadithoftheday Fasting on the day of Arafah (9th of Dhu-Al-Hijjah) :
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Fasting the day of `Arafah expiates the sins of two years: the past one and the coming one.” [Muslim]
@Hadithoftheday 2. Reciting tahmid, tahlil & takbir alot :
The Prophet ﷺ said, “There is no day more honorable in Allah's sight & no acts more beloved therein to Allah than those in these ten days. So say Tahlil [La ilaha illAllah], Takbir [Allahu akbar] & Tahmid [Alhumdulillah] a lot.” [Ahmad]
@Hadithoftheday 3. Doing Hajj:
One of the greatest deeds that can be done during these ten days is Hajj to the sacred House of Allah.
“An accepted Hajj brings no less a reward than Paradise.”
@Hadithoftheday 4. Udhiyah (Animal sacrifice)
One of the righteous deeds that bring a person closer to Allah in these ten days is to slaughter the sacrifice and to look for a good, fat animal and to spend money on it for the sake of Allah.
@Hadithoftheday In these sacred 10 days of the year, one should:
Fill them with worship & remembrance.
Avoid the prohibitions of Allah.
Avoid transgressing the honor of others.
Remember the oppressed.
Spend daily in charity.
Mend broken ties, & reconcile between others.
@Hadithoftheday Prophet ﷺ said,
“Whoever performs Hajj & does not commit any obscenity or transgression shall return [free from sins] as he was on the day his mother gave birth to him.”
@Hadithoftheday Allah Says in Qur'an:
And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka’bah) is a duty that mankind owes to Allaah, those who can afford the expenses (for one’s conveyance, provision and residence). [Qur'an, 3:97]
@Hadithoftheday Hajj is one of the best acts of worship. It is one of the pillars of Islam.
It is an obligation upon every able-bodied and financially capable Muslim, both male and female, to be completed at least once in a lifetime.
