very funny to see a thread from a scholar of religion telling me not to mock "Disney adults" because these are people finding religious meaning and it's like no i get that it's actually WHY i am making fun of them
call me nuts but i think it's probably bad that capitalism's full capture and reintegration of the fandom apparatus mirrors religious institutions extracting care, labor, and money from people who are desperate to believe we don't live in a hellish and fallen world
