12 Lessons Every Man Needs to Learn in His 20s
| Thread
1. If you're not scared, you're not going fast enough.
Man needs to push himself to be sure he's not aiming too low. Explore some limits.
Never be less than you were born to be.
2. Become responsible
No more missed bill payments. No more showing up for work late.Ā
Stop staying up till all hours of the night playing video games, then rolling into work late, hung-over, and sleep-deprived.
3. Adopt the 5-hour rule
If you want to be a great man, you need to level up your mind.Ā
Spend 1 hour a day, 5 days a week, leveling up your knowledge and practicing to get better at something you want to master.
4. Learn to fight
Start boxing. Take karate lessons. Take up MMA.Ā
This makes you dangerous, increases your confidence and gives you the option toĀ chooseĀ to be peacefulĀ instead of forcing it upon you.
5. Find a mentor
Students with mentors are much more likely to advance their careers successfully.Ā
Who do you admire in life? Find a way to plug their advice into your ears, and listen.
6. Don’t complain
Complaining doesn’t help to fix problems. In fact, it often only serves to perpetuate them.
So stop complaining, and start finding solutions.
7. Spend less time on your phone
Far too many men in our modern-day get sucked into their phones.Ā
Turn it off for an hour or two every day and delete apps that are a waste of time.
8. Don’t watch porn
Gaining pleasure from watching porn is literally cucking yourself.
Enough said.
9. Don’t make women the mission of your life
Too many men believe ā€˜happy wife, happy life,’ is the way to live.Ā
Find a purpose, meaning, a vision for your future, goals, excellence, pride, and grit.Ā This is the way to live.
10. Write down your goals
People who regularly write down their goals earnĀ 9 timesĀ as much as people who don’t.Ā
It may sound corny but the quote ā€œwithout a goal, you can’t scoreā€ is very accurate.
11. Confront and defeat your shame
Carl Jung once said thatĀ ā€œShame is a soul-eating emotion.ā€
Take a close look at your negative emotions, and realize that the root causes are almost always rooted inĀ shame.
12. Level up your self-discipline
Self-discipline is absolutely an essential key to becoming a better man.
What we don’t accomplish will only become regret when we grow older.Ā
There’s nothing scarier than regret.
