For you to obtain traffic.... You need to understand how to get attention.
If people can't pay you their attention...
they can't pay you their email/phone number
....and they will most definitely NOT pay you their money
In the words of Kenny Nwokoye "Value is Honey To Traffic"
And then Bruno Nwogu said "Value is subjective"
I consider both my internet dad's.. But let's read Bruno's line again.
In summary.. You need to figure out who you want give value to. That brings us to the 1st step:
1. Your Customer Avatar
Yes.... You probably heard this before right?
If you are unable to identify this... What you have is NOT a business.
Who's that one guy that your message is for? Yes.... One
Here's how to identify your customer avatar:
Features Of Your Customer Avatar
• Age
• Name
• Gender
• Desires
• Interests
• Problems
• Hangout spots
• Spending power
• Awareness Level
• Geographic Location
Oh yeah.... It also needs to be just one person
For a Fitness Creator.... His customer avatar is probably
A 22-year-old skinny male called Joe. Joe is having a hard time with the chicks on campus because he looks like something that came out of the biology lab.
Joe is tired of waking up in the body of his nightmares.
He works a job that pays $300 per month.
He's always scrolling on Instagram watching Fitness content ....instead of working out
Make sense?
With this information now...
The Fitness creator is going to create the kind of content that helps Joe get fit. Also.....
The content will be around
• Exercise
• Nutrition
• Mindset
He will start creating content where? Obviously on Instagram
I hope this kind of makes sense to you?
Now.... You might be thinking....
"If i make my message for just one person, won't i miss out on a huge amount of traffic?"
I felt the same way a few months ago.
So i had to ask myself.... 🤔
If i was having a toothache... Would i go to my Pharmacist or my Dentist?
My pharmacist has a knowledge of many illnesses & pains as well as the drugs to help solve the aches right?
But.... my dentist is all about teeth.
I prefer to go to that one guy that is all about teeth when i got a tooth ache.
So... Become a specialist and NOT a generalist
2. Creating Content Consistently
Yep... We have identified our customer avatar.
Now its time to start creating content
....wait for it....
Consistently!
What kind of content do we create?
We create the kind of content that is focused on solving the problems of our customer avatar
Remember... Joe is interested in fitness content.
We won't post content around Crypto trading, basketball or relationship.
We create fitness content. How do you get content ideas?
Step-By-Step Formula To Getting Content Ideas
• Follow big creators in your niche/specialty
• Model their positioning and content
• Tweak it a bit
• Start posting everyday
Alternative:
• Consume a lot of quality content around your niche.
You are what you eat
No matter how little you know... Keep on creating.
The more you create... the better you get.
If Joe ( customer avatar ) can see you as someone who knows more about his problem than he does.... He will be indebted to you
Which brings us to the next step:
3. Input Your Call-To-Action
Joe is so happy with the FREE content you're putting out there
He wants to get more content from you ...so help him.
Where do you actually want Joe to go to?
For you it may be Email
For me its my WhatsApp
For someone else it may be some other social media
So after posting a good piece of content ...its a smart to add your Call-To-Action Link
The bigger your following on that platform...
The bigger the reach... The more the clicks
PS: Social Media Algorithms reduce the reach of posts that include links in them.
You want to put your links in the comment section ..and NOT on the post
But its fine either way 🙂
The reason they do that is because links take users out of the platform. They don't like that
4. Multiply The Traffic
After Joe gets to your WhatsApp.. Ask him to repost your lead magnet
Your lead magnet could be a FREE..
• ebook
• training
• Consultation
You want him to repost this to attract other Joe's like himself
The good thing about these reposts is that..
You are leveraging on Joe's trust
Normally.... Joe's friends may not have connected with you
But... Because they saw that their good friend posted this.. They are convinced that its from a reputable source
You are a reputable source right? Right?!
Also make Joe's friends repost this lead magnet ...and make their friends to do it.
Keep this running endlessly. Imagine..
Joe's Post brings 4 people
Those 4 bring 4 people each
Those 16 bring 4 people each
Those 64 bring 4 people each
Etc.. Its beautiful isn't it? 🥱
The best way to get them to do this is by offering a reward. Something they are interested in.
Especially that which actually cost you money ..but you decided to offer it to them for free.
Yep.. They need to feel like they are stealing from you (irresistible)
They should...
• Post your lead magnet
• Send you a screenshot of proof after X period of time
• Then they get their gift
Works every time 🦜. Next you need to:
5. Transfer The Traffic
Make them follow you on multiple social media platforms.
Are they following you on Twitter? Okay... Put your instagram link on your Twitter Bio so that they follow you over there too.
This way... If Elon Musk decides to throw you out of Twitter...
You can now run back to Daddy Mark on Instagram 😊
Putting them on multiple social media also gives them this omnipresence effect
Which in my opinion ...is the ultimate follow up.
They see you on Facebook
They receive your daily emails
They watch your videos on YouTube
