AEW&C - Airborne Early Warning and Control; airborne platforms that allow for long-range detection of enemy forces and for command and control of friendly air units and engagements, sometimes (erroneously) called AWACS
AFV - Armoured Fighting Vehicle; any armoured vehicle intended to be used in combat
APC - Armoured Personnel Carrier; a lightly armoured vehicle intended to carry infantry to contact but not intended to participate in the fighting

BM - Ballistic Missile; a missile fired on a ballistic trajectory (ie. in a high arc) that exit the atmosphere for a portion of the flight with long range and usually high payload
BVR - Beyond Visual Range; air combat that takes place beyond visual range, usually at ranges of more than 20 nautical miles (37 km) or a missile designed for such combat
CAS - Close Air Support; support provided to troops in combat by air units targeting enemy troops and

SIGINT - SIGnals INTelligence; intelligence or intelligence gathering focused on signals analysis, eg. radio messages or various electronic sources such as radar emissions, includes both communications and non-communications signals of all types
SPAAG - Self-Propelled Anti Aircraft Gun; AAA mounted on a mobile chassis, eg, a tank or IFV hull or a truck
