How Stacking Skills That Create Opportunities Puts You Ahead of 97% of People:
-A Thread-
Each skill, each piece of knowledge that you gain in a particular area is like its own world
One which you can dip your foot in and out of as much and as frequently as you like
Expanding what you see as possible
With this ability to enter a new world comes opportunities which you would never have gotten if you had not been in that world
For example, if you haven’t got the skill of coding you would likely never consider making an app for whatever endeavour you are chasing
Newly added skills allow for new, potential, feasible avenues to go down, more opportunities
All because of the expansion of what you think possible
“The future belongs to those who learn more skills and combine them in a creative way” - Robert Greene
What skills should you learn?
1. Something you’re passionate about, that naturally excites you
2. Something that is high value
3. A combination of 1 + 2
How do you learn your chosen skill?
- read books on the subject
- take courses on the subject
- show up every damn day and dedicate at least an hour to the skill
- find a mentor (massively fast tracks your progress)
Look, learning a skill isn’t easy.
It’s not meant to be.
If it was easy, everyone would learn the skill and it would lose its value.
But by not learning the skill (simply because it’s hard)
You are limiting yourself and the opportunities that come your way simply because of your limited views of what's possible.
Build skills, expand your knowledge of the world and you will expand what you see as possible.
With this, opportunities will come that 97% of people will never see because of their limited view of what is possible
Building skills is tough, is requires discipline
