Dear new NGRN,
Congratulations and welcome on board!
Here are the 8 basic tips to surviving nursing in Nigeria. 76.8% of nurses don’t know this, hence they struggle and get frustrated.

1. Your Salary will never be enough : Get a side hustle aside nursing.
2. Never drop copies of your license or certificate for any employer: They will never employ you. Rather, they would hire a quack and present the license you’ve given them to the government during accreditation or verification visits.
3. Nigerian Nursing is crazy: Get ready for it. One major thing that would help you is to get yourself enrolled into an emotional intelligence course. It will help you put your emotions under control
5. Protect yourself first: If you die your next shift would be covered
6. Protect your licence: This is your life and escape route out of poverty, It won't be spared if anything goes wrong
7. Protect your patients: No-one will safe you if you failed to & get reported, not NANNM or your organisation
Have you got any other surviving tips?
8. Join a nursing community: If you want to be successful you can’t work in isolation. You need access to quality information in your field. Don’t forget the old saying “Your network is your net-worth”
