Money now is more valuable than money you get later. This everyone knows. Why? Because present value of money, and term structure of interest rates and all. But that is not all.

Also, when we are young, we do not have much money. Most young people earn less compared to older people. Unless you are in a coolshizz company run by some mad VC-fuelled frenzy. Which is all of HSR layout. But I digress.
So if you invest 25k from a small paycheck, it hurts. You have to compromise on lifestyle, housing, location, etc. Maybe live in JP Nagar in Bangalore, or Andheri East, if you are in Mumbai. Your youth will be pretty bleh, and your memories will look like an 80s Hindi movie.
Later on, in your 30s, the earnings go up, and that 25k will be nothing. And your 1-year saving will be more than your 10-year savings in early 20s. So then, what was the point?
You may be sacrificing your youth to get your douchebag 16-year-old son a BMW, but do you want that?

Point is, this "save-invest-hustle" culture is becoming toxic.
If you are young, and not saving enough, please do not feel guilty. It's okay, life is a long game. We cannot live our life on someone else's schedule. Not everyone gets there at the same time.

Please do not invest to the point of not having a life. Invest in yourself, and learn important career skills. Prepare yourself for a 10x-20x pay in your 30s, instead of saving everything you get in your 20s.
