Another video of the shooting. Sounds like a shotgun rather than pistol.
Going by this picture several things stand out. 1) the calibre of the shotgun would cause horrific damage 2) shot from the back it would crush the rib cage/possibly the spine 3) internal damage based on bullet used. Almost certain death. Also the guy - not yakuza for sure
(No tattoos), possibly deranged (japan has some horrific murders by a mental illness plague). Possibly not ideological either given an ideological killer would carry some markers. I doubt this was political or criminal. Most likely personal grudge or mental imbalance. Obviously
The clumsiness of security - they simply werenβt checking when such a large weapon was removed from its casing, didnβt run to protect Abe , clearly sleeping on the job, and letβs not even get into the fiasco of the medevac.
