Many Japanese don't know about the war crimes committed by their leaders & military against Chinese & Koreans.
But it's not the people's fault.

Nobusuke Kishi was the 3rd Prime Minister post-American occupation of Japan (which officially ended in 1952).
However, some would argue that Japan is still functionally occupied by the American Empire... as demonstrated by its ruling class' subservience to the USA.
