As a leader, sometimes you’ll be the only one with a positive attitude.
Here are 7 ways leaders can lift up their teams:
1. Be humble
Humility is a modest view of one’s importance.
We can always find someone else that seems more important or knows more about a particular topic.
Leaders esteem others more than themselves.
2. Share knowledge
Knowledge includes facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education.
Knowledge is power. Knowledge shared is power multiplied.” – Robert Boyce
3. Don’t gossip
Gossip is an unconstrained conversation about another person; typically, the details are not confirmed as true.
Gossip isn’t a method of gaining or sharing knowledge but is destructive to everyone. Keep others’ secrets.
4. Be understanding
Understanding is the ability to comprehend something or come to a mutual agreement with someone.
Understanding starts and ends with listening to another person.
5. Be encouraging
Encouragement is expressing one’s hope and belief in words and actions.
Speak encouraging words and do encourage acts to lift others.
6. Forgive others
Forgiveness is the deliberate act of excusing someone for a wrong done against you.
Forgiveness frees people from the burden of resentment.
7. Be positive
Positivity is the practice of having an optimistic attitude. If you are positive, you will be hopeful, confident, and think of the good aspects of a situation.
Positivity is infectious. Infect others with your positivity.
