This is all a projection of their own homogeneous and ultimately provincial lives: her and her audience are elites living in expensive redoubts with “In this house…” signs on their lawns, thinking they’re rescuing minorities from other whites they (self-)loathe so much.
They’ve never actually lived in regions (TX, Miami, etc) where the power structure is anything but elite whites. It’s a competition among themselves to be the most tolerant-seeming while also treating minorities like props. They say ‘LatinX’ with a straight face.
