The difference between success and failure is getting started, let me explain:
Most people only fantasize about things that can be accomplished.
They…
Hire gurus
Read books
Buy courses
Watch youtube videos
They just never actually get started.
What you need to know is this, if you start and play the long game, you’ll win.
Let's define our terms here 👇👇
What do I mean by start?
What do I mean by the long game?
Starting
Reading, watching, planning, and consulting are not starting.
There’s nothing wrong with these things, but they’re not starting.
To start you actually have to do something.
You have to make time in your day, week, and month to take the first step.
You must come up with a plan, write it out, and then follow it step by step.
Most will plan and never act.
You’ve done this.
You set a budget for the month and then never look at it again.
Then your bank account is empty and you think “I should start budgeting.”
You planned but you didn’t start.
Starting would be…
After creating the budget, you start tracking your spreading and comparing it to the budget you’ve set.
The daily, weekly or monthly tracking is
Long Game
Playing the long game means you don’t give up…
When you fail.
When it gets hard.
When others don’t get it.
When things don’t go as planned.
When people tell you you’re dumb.
Playing the long game means recognizing there will be bumps in the road and preparing for them.
You fail if you start and then quit…
When it gets hard.
When you push and life pushes back.
When you have plan A but no plan B.
When something doesn’t go your way.
This is why you need a vision and the ability to look past today.
You need to envision yourself 5, 10, or 20 years from now achieving your dreams.
Without being committed to the long game, you’ll get crushed by the short game.
This will give you persistence.
The most successful people have been doing what they do for decades, not years.
Think about this, the person you idealize and want to be like has probably been at it for decades.
You’re not going to be an “overnight success.” Those don’t exist.
Start, Play The Long Game and…one more thing.
Stay Consistent
Consistency trumps everything.
There are lots of skills you can learn.
But as a pure trait? Consistency is unmatched.
Do your thing every day and reap huge rewards.
Do your thing every single day and reap the rewards downstream.
Conclusion:
Success is within your grasp.
Start today
Play The Long Game
Stay consistent by showing up every day
Most people fail because they don’t even start.
