came home from getting some late night groceries
as I open the door, toast and salad *bolt* out into the stairwell
I go back out to get toast, who has run up to the next floor
when I come down, I see thor, who is now also in the stairwell

I plop toast into the apartment, and go pick up salad who is waddling about halfway down to the floor below
when I came back to the door, toast gets zoomies and *sprints* down the stairs
I plop salad into a large cardboard box in the apartment, and half-close the door

I head down to get toast, who is now on the floor below, sniffing the doors of my neighbors
I scoop the lil scurryboy and head up to our apartment again
the door is thankfully still half-closed, and thor is nearby

I plop toast into the apartment, he runs in, salad hops out of the cardboard box and starts chasing toast
finally, thor waddles in on his own after me

when I become famous my autobiography will be called Herding Cats
