We need to raise the mandatory pilot retirement age from 65 to 67. It won’t solve all our problems, but it will help.
My flight yesterday from Charlotte to DC was supposed to leave at 2:40pm. We finally took off at 11:52pm.

The problem is familiar – severe weather sets in motion flight delays then the problems gets compounded by the lack of available crews to fill in.
I have great respect for the airline personnel who are flooded with upset passengers and are still able to do their jobs.

I also appreciate the air and ground crews in the aviation industry.
But the flying public knows the current system is broken.
We need more pilots!

Current government regulations forcing them into mandatory retirement at age 65 only makes the problem worse.
We can address this issue and Congress should get it done.
