You understand, of course, that they don't care about defining or communicating reality. They care only about you having to accept, say, and (ultimately) think whatever they tell you to accept, say, and think. And they are telling you there is no recession.

First, everyone in league with them must accept their definition, as well as everyone who is neutral or weak or otherwise not in position to counter them - they will all (willingly or not) go along.

Second, everyone will realize this is now what must be said: one cannot say we are in a recession, or you will be "fact-checked" and face various negative consequences for standing up and out. Affirm that "We are not in a recession" over and over or else.

Third, people will begin to actually think "We are not in a recession" as they are not allowed to say otherwise, as various people recite the new mantra out loud to prove allegiance to the regime, and as they are constantly told what the new metrics are. Direct narrative control.

The metrics don't matter, of course. What matters is who determines what matters. And they do now. In real time.
