I don't care how "based" you think you are, if you talk like an academic about philosophy, you're boring. Nobody cares about academic philosophy. It is the most boring shit on earth. Philosophy doesn't live in your little departments, it dies there. You are all freaks.

The modern academic discipline of philosophy hasn't produced a single great philosopher.

All of the great philosophers of the 20C come out of theology, philology, mathematics. Also out of Marxism, Nietzsche, Christianity, and psychoanalysis. Not "philosophy degrees". The academic students of philosophy are the most hidebound and boring people on earth.

The whole point of philosophy as a topic of conversation is to go beyond the everyday rules of conversation and explore the depths. The whole point of academic philosophy is to reintroduce everyday rules and principles, restrictions, no-go zones, until philosophy is rebanalised.

If you want to become a philosopher today, do almost anything but study philosophy academically.
