Building a business is hard.
But it doesn't need to be.
I've stuck to the same set of business-building rules for years.
They've helped me make over $1.1M.
Hope it's helpful to someone [🧵]:
Rule #1: Know Your Customer
Your customer is an entire person.
They aren’t just interested in buying your “thing”
They have a life, a personality, and interests.
The more you know every detail of who they are, the more chance you have at selling to them.
Rule #2: Don’t Sell
Let’s just say you’re selling a fat loss program…
Do you think people jump onto Twitter telling themselves they need to lose weight?
Probably not.
People go onto Twitter to consume entertainment, not to buy.
So how do you get them to buy?
By sparking curiosity.
Make sure your content is conversational.
Get them to be so curious they reach out to you or check more of your content out.
This makes the selling process so much easier.
Rule #3: Perfecting Your Offer
The hard part about making money is being able to communicate value.
It’s hard enough getting someone to pay attention to you…
Read your content…
Open your email…
But it’s harder to get someone to hand over their money.
This is where perfecting your offer comes into play.
A lot of people will focus on the features & deliverables.
But that’s where they’re doing it wrong.
Obsessively focus on what the customer will get out of it.
Nobody cares what you’re going to be given them.
All they care about is results.
So make sure you’re constantly doubling down on how you can help them.
Rule #4: Scaling Up
Once you’re onto something…
This could be a product or service…
It could also be a style of content that’s getting traction…
Then what are you waiting for? Double down on what’s working
Rule #5: Not Giving Up
Before you’ll achieve any sort of success…
You’re going to fail.
You’re going to waste time.
You’re going to lose money.
But at the end of the day, it all comes down to how bad you want it.
