2. Do new things that elevate your mood
This sounds obvious.
But many of us do the same old things every day.
Go to work, come home, use the computer, watch TV, go to bed.
We keep doing the things we’ve always done.
This makes life feel boring, bleak, and pointless.
How do you spice life up?
By making time to do something new.
- Hang out with friends or family
- Take a walk, hike, or run someplace new
- Try a new bar, coffee shop, or restaurant
This breaks up the routine of life and makes you excited to be alive again.
3. Put more effort into your appearance
How you dress affects how you feel.
When you aren’t
- Showering
- Cutting your nails
- Trimming your beard
- Keeping up with your hair
- Wearing well-fitting clothes
You’re telling your brain you don’t care about yourself.
Improving your appearance improves your confidence.
You’ll notice people are drawn to you.

Wear your work clothes instead of your sleep clothes.
4. Keep a list of things to keep in order
Write down the areas of your life you need to keep in order.
Areas such as your:
- Home
- Finances
- Environment
- Relationships
- Mental health
- Physical health
- Business (or Career)
Keep a list on your phone to remind you of them.
Things will get worse if you leave them alone for too long.
If you don’t take care of your teeth, you’ll get cavities.
If you don’t do your work, you’ll lose your business.
If you don’t clean your kitchen, you’ll get bugs.
Your list helps you maintain what matters.
5. Prioritize your health
Small changes have big effects.
When you sleep more, you have more energy.
When you exercise more, you have more stamina.
When you drink more water, you have more mental clarity.
Your physical health and your mental health are linked.
As your health improves, your entire life will improve.
You’ll be happier.
You’ll feel more fulfilled.
You’ll make more money.
You’ll get work done faster.
