As I turn 25 today, here are 10 things I’ve learned so far:
- life is too short, don’t get involved in the BS, never start drama and learn to move on your own pace.
- Not everyone wants to see you win, watch who you spend your time with. It’s an uncomfortable fact but even some of your friends and family don’t want to see you prosper.
- life is short, when it’s time to work give it your all. Learn to be build a schedule, set short term goals along the way and be proud of the outcome.
- Be motivated by others but do not compare yourself to others. Instead focus on your strengths, figure out what you’re good at and emphasize on that.
- Health is everything, push yourself when it’s time to work. But take breaks, sleep well, eat well and listen to your body.
-Don’t be harsh on yourself, you’re going to F up. It sucks when you set a goal for yourself and you fail. But, don’t beat yourself about it. Get back up and start again but this time you have more knowledge.
- Spend time with your loved ones, our time is limited. Don’t be that person that spends their entire day just working. Appreciate them, laugh with them and create memories.
-Money won’t solve all of your problems. It can reduce the stress in your life. It can create short term happiness but you must find a bigger purpose In life. Be it giving back to a cause/community, creating a legacy.
- You don’t have to make everyone happy. Learn to respect yourself first, your time and your happiness. Never seek validation from others.
- Don’t be a “know it all”- The biggest mistake I have made is not listening to others. Sometimes we make the pre assumptions that the other person is not knowledgeable about a subject/perspective. Learn to listen to others.
