IF you forget what you read the next day.

IF you forget what you read the next day.
Here’s the 5-step system that’ll help you remember everything you read 10x easier:
1) Pre-reading
Scan pages before reading.
This primes your brain for the content and gives you a basic idea of the content in the book.
Since you’re familiar with the concepts, when you go to read the book, you’ll retain information easier.
More exposure = More retention.

2) Highlights
Most people highlight too much when they read.
Too many highlights overload your brain with information.
Too much information means you won’t remember any information.
Be selective and only highlight key pieces of information.

3) Take notes after you read
Switching from reading to note-taking is like stepping on the gas and hitting reverse.
It wastes energy going back and forth.
Stop context switching.
Let yourself digest the information.
If you want to take a note, highlight it, come back later.

4) Summarize
After each chapter, recall the theme and key information.
Look back at your highlights and make a note of:
- Key concepts
- Important words
- The main overall lesson
Simplifying and shortening will increase retention.

5) Take action
Practice makes information permanent.
The more you apply the concepts, the more neural pathways you create in your brain for that information.
So, only move on to another book after taking action from the one you just read.
