THE HINDSIGHT THREADS
I am starting a series of threads in which I will be analyzing trade setups from past days that could be taken under my boxes framework (will be calling it Boxed framework to sound cool; hope no one has put a TM on that lol).
I understand that people need to be taken by the hand sometimes (I remember myself feeling this way too) and shown specific steps to follow (or need some solid ideas to use in their own trading). Will be mostly looking at FX, gold and indices.
No emotion involved (in the analysis part at least, execution is a diff matter), all analysis is objective and part of framework which handles bias, entries filtering, targets, SL management, sizing etc (there will be parts I will not go into detail here, for obvious reasons).
This means that anyone with this knowledge would have spotted the exact same trade. I may have taken some of them, but this is not important. What's important is to show there is a way and a framework of analyzing price structure that is not dependent on 'I feel' and 'I think'
and 'you should have spotted the weakness bro, it's obvious' 😄.
I will mention quite a few terms, such as Reversal Box (RB), RB of RB (RBsq), primary sequence, range top/bottom. Some are defined in the quoted thread. Others will be talked about soon.
Let's go then.
HINDSIGHT SETUP #1
UJ short Jul 22
Let's first take a look at diagram form:
A) UJ presented a valid reversal box (RB) for a short. Why valid?
1) it is RB that broke RB (RBsq)
2) RB is not 'consumed' (specific way to tell)
3) liquidity gap (LG) at level (same)
B) Inside it there were 2 tradable zones (orange zones). These are objective SR points that, combined with the edge of box that breaks them, make up a tradable zone.
Why these zones specifically? I picked them via the process implied in this tweet:
This means that in all that huge green zone I was only interested in the 2 mini orange ones. Let's look at actual chart:
C) Once entry triggered, setup invalidation was at break of orange zone (which would mean we'd exit at BE on retrace. Hard SL was higher). Target was at new lower low for 88 pips (new box formation) since there was no opposing setup inside the range.
To sum up: found valid RB, found tradable zones inside it, traded zone to its natural target.
I actually did trade this one.
