You buy a ticket. Instead of working at your current room or office, instead you've got a place on the beach in Mexico. Surf in the morning. Take nice walks at sunset. Nothing changes, just the environment. Work stays the same.
Here's the thing though:
People are tied to that pesky 9-5 thing...

Moving is a huge inconvenience if you're in the "typical" American sort of life. Way too much paperwork and hassle that makes things nearly impossible to leave.
So people just stay.

And they get stuck in a rut.
You see this time and time again, especially with American men who are middle aged. Life has just beat the ever-living snot out of them.

Between the job, the wife (who has been brainwashed repeatedly by all the usual propaganda), house chores (American house + yard = endless work), kids activities (you know, they have to play a different sport every day of the week).
Nobody has time to thing about making change.

They just see everybody else doing it, so...they do it also.

Like I was saying, that little beach town in Mexico looks mighty appealing when we have what, 5 different wars spread across the globe right now?
Let's just hope that Mexico keeps their nose out of them all...
