One day, your child will come to show you something for the last time.
It will be one of the saddest days of your life and you wonโ€™t even notice it.
You could be doing everything right, providing your full attention, and treating every finger painting as a masterpiece.
This will still happen.
Kids grow up.
They don't need as much of your validation.
They stop playing around with abstract LEGO sculptures.
Cherish every time they come and want your attention.
Give them full attention, even if it's just for 15 seconds.
Because at some point, you'll start reflecting and realize they haven't asked to show you something for months.
And that phase of life is over.
The next phases of their life will still have their moments of joy.
There is still a lot to look forward to.
But those moments will be different.
The joy has a different flavor.
This is right and good.
But bittersweet.
