CONVERSION METHODS
• Twelver Shiism was imposed as the state and mandatory religion for the whole nation.
• Forcible conversion of Iranian Sufi Sunnis to Shiism took place in massive scale.
(5/n)
• Shah reintroduced the Sadr (Arabic, leader) – an office that was responsible for supervising religious institutions and endowments.
• Sadr was tasked with the task of disseminating Twelver doctrine, for transforming Iran into a Shiite state

• Shah destroyed Sunni mosques.
• This was even noted by Tomé Pires, the Portuguese ambassador who visited Iran in 1511–12, he noted : "He (i.e. Ismail) reforms our churches, destroys the houses of all Moors who follow the Sunnah of Muhammad "
(7/n)
• Shah enforced the ritual of compulsory cursing of the first 3 Sunni Caliphs from all mosques in his rule.
•He disbanded Sunni Tariqahs, seized their assets, used state patronage to develop Shia shrines, institutions, imported Shia scholars to replace Sunni scholars.
(8/n)
• Shah killed Sunnis; destroyed & desecrated their graves, mosques.
• Ottoman Sultan Bayezid II to ask Shah to stop the anti-Sunni actions. However, Ismail was strongly anti-Sunni, ignored the Sultan's warning, and continued to spread the Shia faith by the sword.

• In his rule, there was a very raucous and colourful, almost carnival-like holiday for celebrating the assassination of Caliph Umar.
• On the day, an effigy of Umar was made to be cursed, insulted, and finally burned.
• Ummul Mu'mineens were abused publicly.

• He persecuted, imprisoned, exiled, and executed stubbornly resistant Sunnis.
• In 1501, Ismail invited all the Shia living outside Iran to come to Iran and be assured of protection from the Sunni majority.
• Massacres of sunnis was common. Read in below snippet.

SHIA RHETORIC.
• Nowdays, Shias make rhetoric that Sultan Selim killed 40,000 shia Qilbashes.
• What they dont tell is that these Shia Qilbashes were killing innocent sunnis in 1000s, destroying mosques & defiling Quran.
• Qilbashes were punished for their crimes.
(12/n)
Infact, Shias are well known for committing genocides of sunnis, but neo-global anti sunnism have allowed them to hide their crimes and play victim card.
In 1504 - 30,000 sunnis were killed by a shia ruler.
