And how you must craft your cold emails to ensure your prospects don’t just throw you in the spam folder
Let’s get into it 👇🏻
First of all - ICP Creation
You MUST craft your ICP
You won’t have a great idea first of who your ideal client is
this will come with skin in the game and refinement
But for now you can make a rough estimate
You MUST craft your ICP

But for now you can make a rough estimate
Here’s how you’re going to craft your ICP:
> What niche are they in? (Go deep: E-com -> health and wellness - fitness supps)
> What’s their company size?
> job titles of people you wish to contact
> revenue?

This is going to help you out a TON
It’s going to make your outreach and selling SO MUCH easier by simply having an idea of who you’re selling to
Here’s some homework:
Go find 10 prospects in your target niche
Tell them you’re a marketing student doing research
QUESTION THEM

Or alternatively
Go to Google/Reddit/Forums
Search:
“NICHE pain points”
“NICHE problems”
Go get a FUNDAMENTAL understanding of who you’re reaching out to
You need to become the expert in their field
Frame your offering as the solution they’ve been crying out for

What’s next?
PROSPECTING
Prospecting is more important than your cold email offer/copy
If your emails are not going to the correct people
You’ll not see any results
Hence why crafting your ICP is so crucial

You’ll want to build out a lead list spreadsheet with the following:
> First name
> Last Name
> Email
> Website
> Company name
> Personal/Company LinkedIn (optional)
You’ll use the website and LinkedIn profiles to build your next column:
The custom first line

The custom first line
Despite commonly held belief, you DO NOT need a custom first line for everyone
For big prospects you really want to work with and certain industries they’re a necessity
A good trick I got from @LeeviEerola was to target a location
And comment on the location

@LeeviEerola UNDERSTANDING YOUR OFFER TYPE
You must structure your offers in different ways when outreaching through cold email depending on your service
Three types:
> No Brainer
> Saturated
> Commoditised

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy 1) “No Brainer” Offers
These are quite literally like stated, “no brainier” services being offered
You can straight up ask for a call when emailing for these
Services include:
> Influencer Marketing
> Lead Generation
> Sales

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy A good template email example would be simply pitching the offer:
“Would 10-15 calls a month on a pay-per-call basis be off use to you?”
“Would 10-15 calls a month on a pay-per-call basis be off use to you?”
@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy 2) Saturated
Saturated services can be tricky to sell, but means you just have to bring your A game and rise above the crowds of npc’s selling the same thing
You need to really hone in on getting the prospect interested
Let’s bring in the case studies

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy Example:
“We’ll help you generate 30% additional revenue with (mechanism) in just 90 days
Or we’ll work for free until we do”

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy 3) Commoditised
A commoditised service is the hardest to sell through cold email
These are services that, although valuable, business owners don’t see a direct need for it
Don’t worry if you fall into this bracket
I’ll show you exactly how to book calls for these offers

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy Next you need to understand the components of an offer:
- Quantifiable Result
- Risk Reversal
- Timeframe
- Niche
- Mechanism
They’re all important components but especially the first three

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy How should you actually write your cold emails?
I’ll start by telling you what you shouldn’t do, and then build a good cold email example
What you shouldn’t do:
- Wall of text
- Mention your service without a quantifiable result
- Use a lot of “I”
- Try and sell on email

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy > Wall of text
How many times have you clicked on something you’ve searched for, seen a wall of text and bounced from the page?
And that’s something YOU HAVE SEARCHED FOR
A topic you are WARM towards
So you really think someone will read a wall of text from a COLD email?

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy > Service without QUANTIFIABLE result
“I’ll run you Facebook ads”
“I’ll make you videos”
“I’ll do lead gen for you”
Yeah, you and the other 200 people cold emailing them every day
WHY SHOULD THEY CARE?

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy > Using “I”
You have to remember who the most important person in everyone’s life is
Theirselves
Stop saying all the things you can do, unless it’s sent with a case study
I promise you these business owners don’t care what YOU can do
They care what you can do FOR THEM

Theirselves
Stop saying all the things you can do, unless it’s sent with a case study

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy > Trying to sell on email
No one enjoys feeling like they’re being sold to
It puts you off when you know they’re just trying to get your money
They want someone who genuinely cares for their business and wants to help most of all
Remember the money is a reflection of value

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy So what can you do to ensure you send a cold email that gets interested replies?
> Use KISS
> Use case studies
> Send results to a similar niche
> Use a call to interest
> Use KISS
> Use case studies
> Send results to a similar niche
> Use a call to interest
@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy > Using KISS
Keep It Short & Simple
K.I.S.S
Going back to the wall of text, try and make something the prospect can read in a few seconds
Get straight to the point - trying to grab their interest
Try to see how few words you can make your emails

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy > Using Case Studies
Case studies are going to move the needle an INSANE amount
You’ve generated $X in just Y, by Z
Remember the offer components??
X = Quantifiable result
Y = Timeframe
Z = Mechanism
A great cold email is a reframing of your offer in creative ways

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy > Results to similar business in niche
If you can get a banger result in the same niche, the prospect will be so much more likely to hop on a call with you
You’ve already done an amazing job with their competitor, so the trust is built you know the niche and can deliver

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy > Use a call to interest
I LOVE these
So many people want to just try and sell the call straight away
This can be done with a great case study or “no-brainer” offer
But I like just using the initial email to generate a reply
That’s it
Get your foot in the door first

@LeeviEerola @cbwritescopy Here’s an example i helped @refinedmarketer with
He was trying to sell his offer of copywriting for twitter or a newsletter
The prospect didn’t have one set up
He was just trying to simply sell everything he could do
It was wayyy too overloading

Saw your Instagram post about streamlining offers - super valuable information
Couldn’t see a newsletter or twitter on your website, are you in the process of setting these up at all?”

Instead of forcing the service down the prospect’s throat
He won’t even know you’re trying to sell anything
It reads exactly like an email an interested prospect would send

I spent a ton of time writing this, was in the works for days
It’s like 36 tweets lmao
I would appreciate it greatly if you could retweet the top tweet, or at least like and reply how much value you got out of it
Thanks :)
