One underrated vitamin for testosterone optimization is vitamin C.
Vitamin C directly governs the function of the entire endocrine system.
One of the reasons stress hormones destroy T is because stress hormones (mainly cortisol and adrenaline) lead the adrenal glands to dump vitamin C and since vitamin C is a precursor to:
1.Collagen synthesis
2.Cholesterol synthesis
3.Bile acid synthesis and
even helps iron homeostasis, all these things become dysregulated.
Best vitamin C sources?
Grapefruit juice nationalism with salt and magnesium, organic berries and cranberry if you can make your own.
If you mention orange juice i'll make sure to outlift you in front of your gf while 2 blonde Russian nurses from Sviyazhsk with an 18 BMI massage me with coconut oil between sets.
Some herbs are good too but it's more complicated and needs a seperate thread.
Best times to consume?
A) In the morning with breakfast since stress hormones are released when we sleep which as we said lead the adrenal glands to dumb vitamin C.
B) Post workout (for the same reason).
Try it for 2 weeks and your recovery will be better.
Obviously every vitamin is important for our hormonal health (vitamin E for example is very powerful (kernel palm oil is a good source)).
We mention vitamin C because:
a) most people live way too stressful lives nowadays and need to up their doses
b) they regurarly consume alcohol
and
c) have iron overload and need vitamin C to excrete some (do not combine foods that are high in vitamin C with foods that are high in iron).
