I grew my YouTube channel to 110k+ Subscribers
Most people quit before they reach 100 subscribers
Here are 10 things that helped me grow:
(Apart from posting consistently)
-Thread🧵-
What you'll learn:
• Finding a niche
• What to focus on
• A process for video creation and posting
• The key things to keep in mind as you go ahead
• Ideas for more videos
1. Find An Unsaturated Niche
You won't initially get views if you talk about broader topics such as productivity, habits, lifestyle etc
Teach something or solve a specific problem
Try to learn a skill solely through YT and you will find the gaps
Make videos to close that gap
2. Create A Simple Process of Video Creation
You don't need to buy the latest camera or mic to start a YT channel
Your smartphone camera is more than sufficient
If you don't want to show your face, screen capture works fine too
You will create more vids if you don't dread it
3. Create a Volume of Content
If your channel only has 1-2 videos, it gives a sense that you're not posting regularly
Create at least 10-20 videos as soon as possible (start with intensity)
Later, you can reduce it to 2-3 times a week (go ahead with consistency)
4. Post on Schedule
Initially, test different timing for posting your videos
You will find that a certain time of the day will give you a better engagement
Fix that time and post strictly at that time
People notice the discipline and will start waiting for your video
5. Create Playlists
Explain a topic in 5-10 videos and create a playlist out of it
It gives people a reason to come back and watch more of your content
If people spend more time with your content, the YT algorithm shows it to more people
6. Find The Content Gap
If you've spent some time looking at the content on YT, you will find some pain points that nobody has covered
Now, YouTube has a feature where you can see what your subscribers are looking for
Look through those searches and find the missing link
7. Create Attractive Thumbnails
Thumbnails are the first impression of your video
Create a curiosity gap through your thumbnail—use the right words, a clear image and some creative icons
Don't make it look like a click-bait
If you fool people, they won't come back
8. Create Timeless Content
Trending topics may give you immediate views but nobody will look for them in a few days
You need to create videos that stay relevant at least for the next 2 years or so
You can cover some trending topics but don't rely on them for growth
9. Engage in Comments
Initially, very few people comment on your videos but it gives an opportunity to connect with them
Talk to them, find out what problems they are facing and cover those pain points in your videos
Unless it's a personal attack, negative comments help too
10. Use Youtube Analytics
Youtube analytics helps you a lot in understanding your audience
Check when your audience is most active, which video is bringing more subscribers, which geographic location is giving you more views, etc
Double down on what works
TL;DR
1. Find An Unsaturated Niche
2. Create a Simple Process of Video Creation
3. Create a Volume of Videos
4. Post on Schedule
5. Create Playlists
6. Find The Content Gap
7. Create Attractive Thumbnails
8. Create Timeless Content
9. Engage in Comments
10. Use Youtube Analytics
That's a wrap!
