My thoughts on Casemiro:

I’ve seen and heard he wants a “new challenge” but also we’re giving him a big pay rise. I do think he’s not the type of player to come here just for a pay day. He has character, an aura about him that most of our current players don’t have. [2/6]
He’ll be a KEY part of the team not just on the pitch but also off it. In the dressing room, Varane and Ronaldo are also there, Fred as well. So he’s played with a few of our players before- he should settle in fine. [3/6]
Midfield balance- will be interesting to see if we sign any more midfielders. If FDJ came (unlikely I know), Casemiro, FDJ and one of Bruno/Eriksen/Donny would be a strong midfield 3. If FDJ doesn’t come, I imagine Eriksen/Fred will take the 8 with Bruno/Donny at 10. [4/6]
Casemiro is a man not just with real quality off the ball with tenacity, winning tackles, intercepting and also his strong positional sense, but he can do what’s necessary on the ball to build attacks. He won’t be a FDJ type but he’ll be fine. He has technique. [5/6]
Yes there’s doubts about longevity and the fact we’re “panicking”. I get all that totally. But I think he will make valuable contributions in the next 3/4 years. Need more of his quality and aura to come through the door, though. Whoever is signed, always #GlazersOut [6/6]
