Our standard curriculum (math, science, grammar, and social studies) was designed well over 100 years ago.
It was built for a world very different than the one we live in today.
5 modern skills your kids need to be learning (that school doesn't touch) 👇
Teach your kids technical skills.
Basic web design (like Wordpress), or basic programming (via Code Academy).
Tech is as foundational a building block to our modern world as chemistry.
Knowing how to build something online is an exceedingly valuable skill.
Teach your kids financial skills.
Basic bookkeeping, budgeting, and personal finance management.
Most kids don't learn this, and they make poor financial choices as young adults (large loans, credit card debt, etc).
Prepare your kids to be financially independent.
Teach your kids entrepreneurial skills.
Starting a business has never been easier. Paid Substack newsletter? Social media marketing? Web design?
The possibilities are endless.
Teach your kids how to find opportunities, pitch ideas, and close sales.
Teach your kids online research skills.
The entire world library is at our fingertips. We just have to know how to use it.
Teach your kids how to find, vet, and compile information.
Knowing how to find answers to questions and learn new skills is a 21st-century superpower.
Teach your kids adaptability — the most important 21st-century soft skill.
Half (or more) of the jobs your kids will hold in 20 years don't even exist yet.
Who was studying social media marketing in 2000?
Teach your kids to adapt, and they can evolve *with* our evolving world.
Kids don't just need to learn chemistry, algebra, and literature.
They need to learn web design, personal finance, and internet entrepreneurship.
We need to be educating our kids for the 21st century.
