New wealth from tech cares about tech history narratives
@smc90 @manovich People rich from tech don’t buy much contemporary art, they have way less possessions compared to the wealthy class that came generations before them. The Silicon Valley Art Fair was an attempt by the art world to reach the tech rich audience but they largely don’t care
@smc90 @manovich There’s a new marketplace for digital goods and it’s a massive reason why generative art has found a home on the blockchain. There are all kinds of interesting technical reasons and cool things beyond the finances. But that’s a large motivating force, and is okay to embrace.
