Applying for Schengen visa is easy and you can DIY, here’s how:
Using France as a case study here’s a list of documents required and the processes to follow:
1. International passport
2. Valid British Residence Permit with atleast 6 months left after returning from the trip
3. Select ur preferred location for biometrics (Edinburgh, London or Manchester) and complete the online application form (tlscontact.com)
***Nearer appointment dates are easier to get in Manchy & Edinburgh than London IMO
4. Passport photograph
5. Proof of transportation return ticket booking for flight (ryanair.com) train (eurostar.com) or coach showing itinerary if visiting more than one Schengen area.If driving, car insurance cert, car V5 log book & drivers license
8. Bank statement showing a minimum of £55 per day for the number of days intended to stay in the Schengen area.
9. Document to show tie to the UK. For students, an official letter from their university that tells the details of their studies…
A “to whom it may concern” university letter will suffice
For employees, letter of employment with payslips is enough.
10. Photocopies of all the original documents.
Attend ur appointment to submit application, give biometrics & make payment.
Choose either to collect passport (free) or have it posted to your address (for a fee).
Await ur visa usually within 2 weeks.
Travel ✈️ take pictures, network, relax and enjoy.
General tips:
Schengen visa obtained from France for example can be used to travel to any Schengen member area.
Apply well in advance before your travel date due to backlogs or try to peak periods.
